Nevena Tomic Stojanovic Has Some Of The Strongest ..

Nevena Tomic Stojanovic has some of the strongest shoulders you’ll ever see. She’s a wife and mother and for the past 15 years, she has thrown out a safety net to dogs and cats in her community of Nis, Serbia. She finds starving, badly injured or abandoned by their families. She also feeds many homeless animals, both dogs and cats, and will catch and spay/neuter where possible.

There have been many occasions when she has put herself in great danger to help a dog or dogs from terrible situations, but this is always the way when dealing with the heart of a rescuer.

“She works two jobs to support herself and her disabled husband and she rescues both dogs and cats,” animal advocate Frieda Wolf explains. “She is 7 months behind in pension debt and has numerous unpaid vet bills. She is truly a good woman who is embarrassed and ashamed when she needs to ask for financial help.”

It is very draining both mentally and physically, the terrible things she sees on a daily basis take its toll. The debts too that come with rescue are huge and never ending but walking away has never been an option.
