REMEMBER TO BRUSH YOUR TEETH

Periodontal Disease

Jacob, a 15 year old gentleman, was surrendered to the SPCA because his previous owner was leaving the country. He came to us with a gnarly set of teeth.

Diagnosed with dire periodontal disease by our #SPCASingapore clinic, his prognosis included gum infection, severe dental tartar, and exposed tooth roots. This is caused by a build-up of plaque/tartar on teeth, and can oftentimes lead to serious health problems. At-home dental care alongside regular dental checkups with your vet is necessary for keeping your dog’s mouth healthy. Remember to brush your teeth… and your furkids’ teeth! ٩(๑`^´๑)۶

After dental assessment, Jacob had most of his teeth extracted – but that only provided him with relief. He loves his food and has not let the missing teeth affect his appetite! Jacob is up for adoption. As he has other conditions including osteoarthritis and cataracts, we are looking for an experienced family ready to provide him the tender loving care he deserves! Please find him at @spcasgadopt 💙
