Afia Was Only A Few Weeks Old When She Became The ..

Afia was only a few weeks old when she became the sole survivor of her litter. Her siblings were sadly killed by monkeys, and her mother was nowhere to be found. Afia was unbelievably lucky; a nearby security guard saw her and managed to rescue her in time.

When Afia arrived at our hospital, her eyes weren’t fully open, and she was crying for her mother’s warmth and milk. Adding to her vulnerable state, she was diagnosed with a condition called ataxia which gives her a permanent wobbly walk. But after receiving round-the-clock foster care, this tiny girl made it through her difficult time.

After a year and three months at the shelter, Afia was welcomed into a loving home in Canada, where she started a new life and with fellow soi dog Zeppelin who was adopted from us in 2016. 🏠🇨🇦

Afia has settled in great. Just two weeks after arriving, she learnt her first command! She’s walking well with her new friend Zeppelin, and the pair are slowly bonding. Her adopter never expected her to be comfortable with stairs on account of her ataxia, but she’s been so brave and started to tackle them! She won’t climb them unless her adopter is nearby and watching, but they’re so proud of her nonetheless. They also installed a ramp in the backyard so she can play in the grass whenever she pleases. See cute videos of Afia in the comments section below. ⬇
