We're Slowly But Surely Resuming Our In-Person Act..

We’re slowly (but surely) resuming our in-person activities, including hosting #TurtleTrips and co-organising #beach #cleanups 💪🏻

Earlier this month, we co-hosted a beach cleanup with Lang Tengah Turtle Watch, ADA Biotech, ZUS Coffee, Geng Plastik Ija, Precious Plastic Malaysia and Tanjong Jara Resort in conjunction with #WorldOceansDay, celebrated on 8th June every year 🏖️

More than 100 volunteers participated in this activity. In under an hour, we have collectively removed more than 660 kg of marine debris within a 1 km stretch of Pantai Teluk Bidara in Dungun.

Of these 600 kg of trash, almost 300 kg consisted of non-recyclable items, and more than 360 kg of debris were sent for recycling.

Lang Tengah Turtle Watch constantly needs help to clean up the beach because it is a nesting site for our endangered green turtles and painted terrapins.

If you know of any companies who’d like to do some meaningful hands on conservation work, please contact LTTW.

Turtle Conservation Society

The Turtle Conservation Society of Malaysia was established in October 2011. The aim of the society is to bring about the recovery of depleted wild populations of turtles, with particular reference to freshwater turtles, in Malaysia through partnerships with like-minded organizations, individuals and local communities as well as through its own programs.
