National Mutt Day. In Singapore We Call Them Our S..

NATIONAL MUTT DAY

In Singapore we call them our Singapore Specials (because they are truly special beings that deserve our pride!), and National Mutt Day is a day to celebrate our loveliest mixed-breed dogs! They’re the dogs that often get overlooked but trust us when we say they have so much love to give!

🐶 Singapaw Specials (SS) have no common/specific breeds, as they are bred by natural-selection without human intervention. This makes them less likely to acquire breed-specific diseases. This improves their survivability in an outdoor environment… talk about good genes!

🐶 Natural selection for high survivability also means knowing when to avoid risks – this makes them (generally) more fearful of new environments and people. Hence the #SPCASingapore always encourages for SS to be properly socialised when they are puppers!

🐶 Each SS adopted is usually the first of his/her generation to be domesticated. How nerve-wracking for them. (•﹏•๑) Therefore, it is essential to provide adequate training to help them adapt and thrive in their new urban environment with human beings!

Singapaw Special Owners… where ya at? 🙋‍♀️🙋‍♂️🙋We hope each and every one of you is feeling extra proud of our amazing local doggos today! Show us a pic of your Singapaw buddy and hashtag #Singapaw.
