📣 For the first time, we’ve lived through 12 straight months with global warming of 1.5°C!

We haven’t passed the 1.5°C goal of the #ParisAgreement, but it’s a huge warning sign that we’re getting close.

According to Dr Stephanie Roe, WWF Global Climate and Energy Lead Scientist and IPCC ARG Report Lead Author, “This new temperature milestone is a seismic moment for the climate. Without considerable emissions reductions in the next few years, we will overshoot the long term 1.5°C threshold in the next decade, and then face the even greater challenge and cost of bringing temperatures back down to below that level.”
