Love is Ageless, with a Sweet, Happy Tail…

Dear Friends at the SPCA,

We just wanted to write to say how much we have enjoyed our cat Panda since adopting him last November.

Although he was described as a “senior kittizen” on your website, our seven-year-old black and white short hair has shown he is certainly not ready to join the retirement sun-and-sit crowd. He may be seven-years-old, but he loves to seek out attention, is very comfortable with all kinds of people and adds so much life to our home. I know some people who visit your shelter can be wary of adopting an older pet, but animals like Panda have so much to give and easily adjust to their new families. I hope that when people hear of our success and enjoyment of Panda, they will also choose to open their homes and their hearts and adopt one of these fun and loving animals.

Panda was also already home-trained by his previous owner; so another bonus to adopting an older cat from another home was that he came fully toilet-trained and not so hyper-active compared to a kitten. He hardly scratches anything in our home, so he was basically a furniture-proof cat!

- Kind regards,

Amy and Steve Moore and Panda

Did you opt for adoption, and your adopted animal companion is now aged 7 years wise, or wiser? Do share with us your Happy ‘Tail’ to encourage prospective adopters to adopt a senior pet from the shelter, so that they too can share in the experience and meaning from having an older animal companion in the household!
