I am 3 years and 3 months old and have been living at the Soi Dog shelter, Phuket, Thailand for very nearly 3 years now.

I was found by Soi Dog, abandoned on the beach when I was still very young. It is scary to be on your own in the outside world. Street dogs threaten to attack you and unkind people threaten to harm you. I was lucky to survive really and to be offered a new home at Soi Dog.

I generally do okay at the shelter but I am quite a nervous dog by nature. I am very unsure of people I do not know and tend to hide under the sala in my run. Once I get to know you though and I believe that I can trust you�.. wow! I�m your best friend for life! My volunteer

dog walker could not believe it when one day, upon realising I could trust her, I leapt from my hiding place and jumped up and gave her a huge hug! She put a lead on me and we went for a walk straight away. I bounded out of the run at full speed; I just love getting out and going for a run! I am quite tall when I stand on my hind legs and everyday now I jump up and give her one of my special hugs. It makes her laugh. The other people at the shelter laugh too when they see. I don�t do it for just anyone though. Only the people who have shown me they are kind and have my best interests at heart.

I can be quite skittish but there is nothing wrong with me. What I need now is a family of my own who have the time to show me that the world is not a bad and scary place. I would make the most wonderful pet if given love, patience and time. In a run with many dogs, it is difficult for me to gain the confidence I need. There are just so many personalities in here fighting for attention.

I hear that lots of dogs from the shelter have been adopted recently. I have been here for 3 years and have been a good dog for all of that time. Surely it is my turn now to find a new home?
