CRITICALLY ENDANGERED TURTLES – FREE TO BE WILD AGAIN

Jasmine (Malaysian Giant Turtle), Genie (Giant Asian pond turtle) and Saleen (Black marsh terrapin, from NParks) are making their way back home to Malaysia today!

The repatriation efforts was initiated in 2020 but had to be postponed due to the pandemic. We are grateful for this collaboration with the Department of Wildlife (Perhilitan) and National Parks Peninsular Malaysia, in giving Genie, Jasmine and Saleen this long awaited second lease at life back in the wild.

ACRES is grateful to Perhilitan, NParks for their cooperation, and Rainbow Aquarium for their assistance, in making this repatriation a success. And Georges @ Wild West for supporting the event with refreshments!
