Happy Gotcha Day Chiku. Chiku Shelter Name Laharn ..

Happy Gotcha Day Chiku! 🎈

Chiku (shelter name Laharn) came into our care in 2021 after our community outreach team noticed he was lethargic and wouldn’t eat. Tests on arrival came back positive for distemper, an often-deadly canine virus. 😟

However, with weeks of supportive care in our dedicated isolation unit, Chiku was one of the lucky ones who made it through. 🙌

Just over a year later, Chiku joined our wonderful partner rescue Dog Tales Rescue and Sanctuary in Ontario, Canada, 🇨🇦 travelling on one of the final flights before the CFIA import ban came into effect.

After a lavish photoshoot courtesy of the Dogs Tales team, Chiku caught the eye of a family in Toronto and landed a home with them! Here’s what his mum Kiran has to say:

“We adopted Chiku in November 2022 and since then he has become an important member of our family.

Chiku is a very beautiful dog. He has a cat sister at our home too, Tara. He loves going out for long walks and loves to play with snow in winter.

Chiku is my only son I can say. He changed our life, especially my daughter’s. He goes for long walks with her and enjoys playing with other dogs at the dog park. He even goes on long drives.

Thanks for saving Chiku for us.”

While we are now unable to adopt to Canada on account of the CFIA import ban, we are able to adopt to the USA, Europe and within Thailand.
