In September, six Coral Triangle countries gathered in Honiara to advance regional conservation in the world’s most biodiverse marine area, home to over 600 coral species, thousands of reef fish, and nearly all marine turtle species.

The meeting focused on aligning national efforts, sharing technical updates, and building partnerships to support the 2026 regional workplan.

Malaysia’s Department of Fisheries and WWF-Malaysia attended and represented Malaysia in the Coral Triangle Initiative on Coral Reefs, Fisheries and Food Security Workshop.
