Unfortunately was pitch black and camera not working anyway but first 2 of the dog meat trade survivors left with flight volunteer last night on flight to Brussels before going on by ferry to UK. Long time SDF resident Toby was also on flight. We will miss you Toby but now you have a proper home. Six more fly to Amsterdam and will leave shelter at 5 am on wednesday morning with 2 other flight volunteers. Overnight in Holland and then on to UK. More than 20 others going to UK and US in next few weeks. Mainly from khemmarat, and a couple from nakhom Phanom. We will be visiting all four livestock centers over next weekend and early next week to check on progress. The center at Kanchanaburi is of most concern. The situation there is desperate and so isolated. SDF are working with and supporting bangkok group Fight for Dogs to help these forgotten dogs. Around 100 left from over 1,000 that originally were intercepted and went to Buriram. Also around 300 abandoned pets from last years floods still survive there from the thousands abandoned. In reality Khemmarat and Nakhon Phanom are paradise compared to this place.
