Noahs Ark CARES Facebook Page And Posts - Starting From December 2013 (Part 1)

A very good day to all of you. We believe the vast majority of us have a Facebook account to keep in touch with our friends these days. Even so, we still do know of friends and supporters who are either unaware of our official Facebook page (www.facebook.com/noahsarkcares) or do not use this online social networking service at all. As you might know, our founder Raymund Wee is the key person running our sanctuary NANAS. As Raymund is forced to move with time and become more technological savvy, it is easier and more convenient for him to update us via mobile or Facebook on the goings-on in Malaysia. J

We get asked about our existence pretty often when people see us at roadshows – most thought we have moved to Malaysia and almost ceased in existence, whereas others also mentioned they have unfortunately lost touch with us but are really glad to see us again. Yes we indeed moved in the year 2000, from being a private shelter Noahs Ark Lodge in Singapore to our current sanctuary NANAS (Noahs Ark Natural Animal Sanctuary) in Johor, Malaysia. Time flew by and we have been there for 14 years! Nevertheless, we are still active in Singapore under Noahs Ark CARES (Companion Animal Rescue and Education Society) started since June 2005. Noahs Ark CARES does the raising of awareness, education, fundraising, rescue and street sterilization in Singapore but we do not have a local holding place.

From time to time, we will be sharing our Facebook posts here on a monthly/bimonthly basis. We have come to realize we do lose track of happenings and events as the older Facebook posts get pushed down with newer updates and are eventually forgotten. Most of these Facebook posts shows our doings in Malaysia, but please rest assured we will try to update our Singapore activities as much as we can too! Let’s start from December 2013 as that was when the Facebook posts got more frequent.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
December is a month of festive season and holidays for many. But in dealing with animals, it is 365 days a year, day in and day out.
Spay day in the Royal Town Muar. Another wholesome and fruitful day with a total of 35 cats being sterilized, from 1pm till 7pm. What a day!
This spay & neuter program is run by Noah’s Ark Natural Animal Sanctuary as a bi-monthly program co-ordinated by the veterinary department in Muar. This low-cost sterilization makes it financially affordable for the lower income pet owners at Rm30 for a male cat and Rm40 for a female – all participating cats will have their left ear notched.
It was also the birthday month for our founder Raymund, whose constant wish is for the better of the four-leggeds always.
==========
Vets @ work volunteering their time @ Noah’s Ark Sanctuary. Thanks for being a Friend of the Ark. The animals are blessed with your generosity and help. A great number of dogs and cats were sterilized, treated and medicated.
==========
After a successful enucleation surgery performed by Dr Cheryl and Ivan @ Noah’s Ark ABC (Animal Birth Control) Clinic. Dog’s owner couldn’t afford the hefty fee charged by the vets. However since she is on social welfare aid the sanctuary clinic did the surgery for free. A big thank you to both of them.
==========
X’mas gathering for Noah’s Ark workers and caregivers at the sanctuary.
==========
Eight street dogs from Johor Jaya were sterilized @ Noah’s Ark ABC (Animal Birth Control) Clinic this afternoon. This is the most humane way to control the street dogs population. This project is free of charge, sometime we do get some donation from the neighbouring residents.
==========
After Boxing Day, the last five days of 2013 were packed to the brim! We might not be able to document every single case that comes to us, but we will try our best so as to keep everyone updated. Stay tuned on how we fruitfully ended 2013!
