THANK YOU FOR SAYING NO TO ILLEGALLY KEEPING WILD ANIMALS AS PETS

The illegal exotic pet trade is sadly still rampant in many parts of the world including Singapore. This ongoing illicit trade means that animals are cruelly snatched from the wild, and transported in horrendous conditions to countries in which they dont belong.

This trade not only threatens populations in the wild; it also involves much suffering to the individual animals who find themselves caught up in the trade and kept as pets. It is extremely hard to meet the needs of wild animals in captivity, and exotic pets often suffer from improper care.

At the ACRES Wildlife Rescue Centre (AWRC), we are looking after more than 150 exotic animals who were illegally kept as pets in Singapore, many of whom have been recklessly abandoned.

Thank you if you have said no to keeping wild animals as pets. Please spread the word – let others know why wild animals are not pets.
