�Without the forest, it�s hard for me to live.�

Khensy Milatid used to see rattan as just a plant. �We didn�t see much value in it; we would chop it down and collect stumps for food.� But Milatid�s view of forests in Laos changed when he was introduced to Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) certification. He realized he could make a good livelihood from the forest � harvesting and weaving rattan for export to markets that want products from well-managed forests � while also conserving it for his future generations. #FSCGA2017
