Snow Leopard Captured In Camera Trap

This curious snow leopard was captured with a camera trap by WWF-Russia. It was previously only possible to estimate snow leopard populations by following their tracks and droppings. They’re so rare and elusive that it’s known as the “Ghost of the Mountains� by Siberians. They travel in cold, high mountains in search of prey such as wild ibex goats and musk deer. And they sneak down from above to break the victim�s neck with one crunch of their powerful jaws.
