Thailand introduced its first animal welfare law in December 2014, making acts of animal cruelty a criminal offence punishable by up to 2 years’ imprisonment and/or a 40,000 THB fine (about 1,200 USD).
But sentencing to date has been overly lenient and acts of horrific animal cruelty continue to be perpetrated, no doubt due in part to the lack of any kind of effective deterrent.
Please join with Thai animal lovers in signing our petition to Thailand’s Minister of Justice urging for animal cruelty offences to be punished to the full extent of the law. Click here to sign: https://www.soidog.org/content/show-world-thailand-does-not-tolerate-animal-cruelty
