DYMM Sultan Terengganu, Sultan Mizan Zainal Abidin ibni Almarhum Sultan Mahmud Al-Muktafi Billah Shah launched the Setiu Wetlands boardwalk today. “I’m happy to see the conservation progress made at the Setiu Wetlands,” said WWF-Malaysia CEO, Dr Dionysius S.K. Sharma. Setiu Wetlands holds a special place for Dr Dino. “I did my PhD on Painted Terrapins here from 1993-1996. Setiu Wetlands was home to me and I’m happy to see the strong support of Tuanku Sultan Mizan to ensure the wetlands are protected and managed, with strong locaI community involvement and our partner, University Malaya Terengganu,” Dr Dino said. Four hundred hectares of the Setiu Wetlands will now constitute a park and more areas will be added on as Terengganu now has a Terengganu State Park Enactment 2017. #WWFmy
