Updates On 15th May 2018

Currently, there is a hot debate on the data social media and Google collect on us. It is a highly relevant debate and let’s hope it comes to fruitful conclusions.

Today, however, it is difficult to imagine social movements without social media.

Here are some examples of fast change through our global connectedness:

In Malaysia’a recent historic election, social media trends created movements like #CarPoolGE14 and #PulangMengundi.

How can we imagine the #metoo-movement without social media? Or the social media savvy Parkland teens that reversed the gun debate recently in the U.S.

Through the Virunga campaign, WWF gathered 1,6 million signatures globally to save the World Heritage site for the mountain gorillas and future generations.

Since 2008, WWF’s Earth Hour has contributed to a sense of global community around climate change.

With We Love Cities we are asking you to reinforce change that is happening where you live. Go to welovecities.org to vote and improve your own city.

It is together possible!
