This International Day of the World’s Indigenous Peoples, let’s take a moment to celebrate Malaysia’s unsung wildlife warriors, the Orang Asli. More often than not, the Orang Asli are the eyes and ears for our conservation efforts, especially in areas like the Belum-Temengor Forest Complex.

WWF-Malaysia’s tiger conservation team works hand in hand with the indigenous communities here to protect the Malayan tiger, which is critically endangered.

The Orang Asli to us, are truly guardians of the forest. Working closely with the Orang Asli is an integral and crucial part of our conservation efforts in WWF-Malaysia.

Learn more about how these guardians help us do our work better.

Tune in here every Thursday in August to The Guardians of the Forest, a mini-documentary series featuring three members from the Orang Asli community in the Belum-Temengor Forest Complex.
