The mighty Rajang River of Sarawak is the longest river in Malaysia.
Together, the #Rajang and its tributaries – #Katibas River, #Baleh River, #Ngemah River etc. make up a river system, which are important to people living along these rivers, from #Sibu to the interior districts of #Kanowit, #Song, #Kapit and #Belaga.
The rivers are important for fishing, domestic use, agriculture, transportation and many aquatic life.
We should keep our rivers clean. It’s possible to meet the needs of both people and nature – if our rivers are managed wisely.
