Waiting With Cow

Our appointment was at 11.30am.

Luckily Jia-Wen hadn’t gone to work yet. It was quite difficult loading Cow into the carrier. He protested and clawed. It took two of us to load him in.

The trip there started with mewing at a constant interval, but Cow soon settled down. The journey took about half an hour. Traffic was heavy in certain parts.

Cow was placed in a cubicle after we arrived, but since he looked so scared, I decided I’d just hold him.

Soon, it was time to put in the IV pod for the drips.

He was still scared, of course.

After about an hour or so, I could see he had settled a little. No more in the classic meatloaf position. A wee bit more settled.

I had planned to stay until the surgery was completed. But the vet told me to go home first as it would be a few more hours before Cow can go home. I also had to feed the cats at home.

So I went home at about 1.45pm.

We did discuss a bit about the cats and the vet advised that once 7 years and above, it’s good to take the cat for a check-up. 7 years is considered “geriatric”.

I drove home and went straight to buy another carrier (we have carriers from the past, but these are not in good shape anymore). I’m thinking that either Pole or Indy should be next.

Perhaps Indy, he was having lose stools last week. And I saw some lose stools again today. Indy also has an extremely colourful medical history that stumped all vets.

It’s 3.00pm now. The surgery should be over.  No phone call – all ought to be well.

The vet said I should only go back to the clinic at 4pm.

Thank you, dear friends, for rooting for Cow Mau.  I’ve been quite nervous for a few days now….
