Check out some of the fun facts about our marine turtles:

#DYK Female green turtles lay between 80 to 130 eggs at a time and leave them in the sand for nearly 2 months before they hatch. Once the turtles have hatched, the hatchlings must crawl to the water and avoid a multitude of predators, including large fish, birds and crabs.They are very independent and brave little ones.

#DYK Turtle hatchlings can locate the ocean because they are “phototactic,” meaning that they are attracted to light. They are guided by the brightest light, which is usually moonlight reflecting on the sea.

#DYK The ideal percentage of hatchling success rate is 80% and above.
