爱狗人士请注意，政府定下零流浪狗的目标！

看到今天整个FB都在乱糟糟，卫生部副部长 Lee Boon Chye 李文材医生 真正说的内容已在新闻台播出 Seeing that the entire FB is in a mess today, the content from Deputy Minister of Health, Dr Lee Boon Chye’s speech has been broadcasted on the news station. (Eng version below)

但李副部长传递的讯息严重错误，狂犬病并不是只有流浪猫狗身上有！其实更多是存在于野生动物 (果子狸、黄鼠狼、狐狸等)

所以没有流浪狗.并.不.会.消灭狂犬病，只会降低人类被传染的风险 (因为我们很少有机会接触野生动物，但流浪狗和我们生活贴近)

达到零流浪的目标非常好，但要如何零流浪？是政府要真正思考和履行的方向，但答案肯定不是扑杀！而是结扎、注射狂犬疫苗 (包括浪浪也需要注射而不是只有家猫家犬)、管制宠物繁殖买卖、限制边境的宠物偷渡等等等等

跪求政府和拥有丰富动保知识和经验的各大NGO携手解决，而不是一再漠视在前线作战的人，却在背后乱拟定战略

However, the message brought up by Dr Lee is a HUGE mistake. Rabies is not only found in stray cats and dogs! In fact, it is more in the wild animals (civet, weasel, fox, etc.)

It doesn’t mean that no stray dogs will eliminate rabies. It will only reduce the risk of human infection (because we rarely have access to wild animals, but we are closer to stray dogs in our daily lives)

The goal of achieving zero wandering stray animal is very good, but how do we go about it? It is the direction of the government to really think about positively and to fulfill it, but the answer is definitely not to cull! Instead, neutering, injection of rabies vaccine (including the strays and not just the domestic pets), regulation of pet breeding, restricted border pet smuggling, etc.

We hope that the government is willing to work together with the major NGOs with rich knowledge and experience, instead of ignoring those who are fighting on the front line, and do their own messy strategy planning behind the scenes.
