SPCA TRIBUTES — SHORTBREAD, THE BESTEST END
Shortbread first came to SPCA in August 2020, with multiple cancerous lumps all over her body. While she was only given an estimated 1-2 years left, she was still an active dog that ate and drank well! A loving family chose to give her a last forever home with palliative care.
Shortbread’s time with her family was filled with a great deal of love. With a home environment, she still had the chance to experience all her favourite happy walks, getting spoiled with food, toys, pillows, and blankets, and having people fuss over her with affection. Even if there was no cure for her illness, she lived the end of her life relieved from pain and stress, embodied in warmth and care.
With all that has happened, her family only saw Shortbread as a blessing, as she taught them the priceless experience of fostering an animal. They hope that others will open their hearts to animals in need of critical care, as these animals have so much love to give despite their conditions. 💙
Swipe left (till the end) to read a message from Shortbread’s young family member (who is still in primary school)!
