SDF SCAD School & Educational Visits

SDF SCAD staff Matt and Khun Mot, plus adoptable puppy Kewpie join the students of Concordian International School, Bangkok, who generously organized a collection of dog and cat food, plus cat litter to donate to us! In addition to this, they also very kindly donated 4000 baht, raised by the students – we rely entirely on donations to operate (be that food or donated goods for the animals) and we really appreciate the help! Thanks Concordian!

There is no effective legislation in Thailand to protect animals, nor is animal welfare education part of the established curriculum in schools. Without guidance, children remain unable to empathise or to understand that animals can feel much as they themselves do: that animals feel pain, hunger, thirst; that they can feel frightened or contented, lonely, bored, excited or happy. Without this knowledge, these children are likely to grow up making the same mistakes their elders have made before them, and countless thousands of cats and dogs, born or abandoned on Thailand�s streets, will suffer because of it.

Soi Dog Foundation

Established in 2003 in Phuket, Thailand, Soi Dog is Southeast Asia's largest organisation helping stray animals. The Gill Dalley sanctuary in Phuket is home to over 1,600 animals. Soi Dog also has a treatment facility in Bangkok and responds to crisis situations throughout Thailand. The organisation is dedicated to implementing effective, sustainable solutions that reduce the suffering of dogs and cats in Asia, runs entirely on donations and works efficiently so all donations are used to help animals as effectively as possible.
