Dog Thieves Arrested 03-03-2013

Yesterday it was announced that a major arrest had occurred in the battle to end the illegal dog meat trade. A number of people have written asking how they can help these and other dogs rescued from the dog meat trade and held at government shelters. 50+ dogs were rescued in the latest raid however there are thousands more that have already been rescued and are living at the government shelters. All monies donated to the Magic 1000 go towards aiding these dogs.

For those who have not read of the recent arrest…

Based on information supplied by undercover investigators members of the Royal Thai Police raided a holding centre used by dog smugglers. The police decided to take action this early morning at 3 am. 5 pick up trucks and one 6 wheel truck were impounded, 5 men arrested with 3 escaping. 50+ dogs were rescued and taken to the Nakhon Phanom shelter.
