WINTER FOOD NEEDED IMMEDIATELY

Today we’re asking for help with food for rescuer Edina Pasic in Bosnia who is feeding so many homeless animals in the cold, and many living with VERY poor people. Below is Edina’s account:

“We first stopped by some trash cans where 2 poor cats were waiting on container for someone to throw away something they can eat and I gave them one can. Then I heard a woman yelling from across the street saying don’t give them all the food because there’s a lot of them on this side as well. I told her I’ll get to them as well so I grabbed two more cans of food and went over to her and honestly I don’t know how I handled it. The poor woman said she has nothing to give them she didn’t get a chance to buy them anything, and judging by her and the house that’s barely standing it really doesn’t seem like she can handle feeding over 30 cats and 2 dogs… she doesn’t have enough for herself. She’s in a really bad state but she’s proud and does not want to say that she just can’t afford it. I started crying when I gave her 2 cans of food and she was thanking me as if I gave her a house. She kept on saying ‘You saved them today, you gave them food.’ Those are not her cats, she’s not a crazy woman that collects cats. The poor cats come to her from the village nearby cause she’s the only one that does not chase them away”

“There’s at least 10 poor people that call me daily or that I run into while feeding the strays that beg for food for the animals. We managed to feed some more dogs and cats on our way back and I gave 3 cans of food to one lady who’s cat ran in front of our car and she just kept on saying God bless you. I just wanted to burst from all this pain and sadness. “

HOW WE CAN HELP:

Harmony Fund is hoping to do a spay/neuter campaign in early spring to sterilize many of these animals. For now, Edina really needs food for the MANY MANY homeless animals she feeds each day and for the people she encounters who love their animals but are deeply impoverished. Sadly, there is a great deal of poverty in Bosnia. Your donation will bring the most basic comfort to these animals.
