The Kota Kinabalu Court Working Group On Environme..

The Kota Kinabalu Court Working Group on Environment Sabah in collaboration with WWF-Malaysia is proud to launch the “One Hour for Nature” series. This specialist series gathers together honourable judges, judiciaries and judicial officials from Sabah and Sarawak in a monthly session where they will embark on a deep dive into various environmental topics with selected WWF experts.

The inaugural session was held on 27 July 2022 at the Kinabalu Court Complex where the series was also officially launched by Yang Arif Tuan Ismail Bin Brahim. The event was attended by judges from both Sabah and Sarawak.

In this first session, our very own Head of Conservation Sabah, Dr. Robecca Jumin, and our Elephant Conservation Manager and Specialist, Dr. Cheryl Cheah, presented on the Zoning Mechanism of Protected Areas and How to Collar and Sedate Elephants. We received an overwhelmingly positive response from the attendees who look forward to the next session in August!

This is the first of twelve sessions planned under this series. All sessions will cover specific scientific and technical topics from terrestrial and marine conservation work at WWF-Malaysia.
