Happy Tails Mika. Mika Was Adopted As A Puppy, But..

HAPPY TAILS: MIKA

Mika was adopted as a puppy, but at just one and a half years old, she was returned to the SPCA. Her owners said they were moving overseas. They also mentioned complaints from neighbours.

Even so, Mika remained incredibly loving and open. She trusted easily and always leaned in for cuddles. When she went off to her first foster home (in view of adoption), we were hopeful. But not long after, she was returned, again, because of neighbour complaints.

We made a big deal of Mika’s second send-off. We took turns to say bye to her and carried her into the car.

Mika has now been with her forever family for a year 🥹

“Mika arrived a timid shadow, quietly fearful when she first entered our home. It took patience and gentle encouragement to coax her out of her shell. Day by day, her personality bloomed. She was playful, curious, and eager to explore her new world. We discovered her favourite squeaky toys, the exact spot behind her ears she loved, and the treats that made her tail thump with joy.

A kitten sibling soon joined the family, bringing new energy into Mika’s life. Her days are filled with playful chases and wrestling matches. Ever the gentle protector, Mika always lets her little brother eat first.

The past year has been filled with tail wags, joyful leaps, and sloppy, loving kisses. Mika has woven herself into the fabric of our family. Adopting her was the best decision I have ever made ♥️”
