May There Be No Cars On The Rainbow Bridge. This I..

May There Be No Cars on the Rainbow Bridge

This is a heartbreaking and soul-stirring story:

A baby elephant was tragically killed by a truck.

Its mother stayed beside the lifeless body through the night until dawn,

desperately trying again and again to wake her baby—but to no avail.

That moment broke hearts around the world.

It reminded us once again—

all living beings have souls, and a mother’s love knows no bounds.

In Malaysia, roadkill tragedies like this happen almost every day:

We’ve seen helpless cats and dogs struggling in pain after being hit, bleeding out on the road.

We’ve witnessed monkeys lying lifeless after an entire troop was struck.

We’ve seen crushed turtles, their broken shells still holding the warmth of life.

We’ve seen frightened eyes go dark forever beneath the wheels of a vehicle…

These bloody, heartbreaking scenes are etched into our memories.

This is not just a tragedy for animals—

it is a reflection of human impatience and indifference.

We understand that accidents can sometimes be unavoidable.

But if we could just slow down a little,

especially when visibility is poor or while driving at night—

perhaps… the ending could have been different.

To all drivers out there:

Please slow down. Drive responsibly.

It’s not only for your own safety, or your family’s—

but also for the lives of all other road users,

including the voiceless animals who share our roads.

To the authorities, we humbly plead:

Please follow the footsteps of countries that have taken action—

by building wildlife overpasses or adding proper warning systems in areas

where animals frequently cross.

Let’s give them a safer way to return home.

May there be no roaring engines on the Rainbow Bridge.

May the little elephant and all other lives lost on the roads rest in peace.

May they now run free in open fields, beneath sunny skies, with no more pain.

And may the grieving mother elephant

find a sliver of comfort in the gentle passing of time…
