Congratulations to the Sabah Forestry Department and KOPEL on a remarkable achievement: Pin Supu Forest Reserve has been officially recognised as Malaysia’s first terrestrial site on the IUCN Green List.

This global recognition was achieved through a four-year journey towards the IUCN Green List—a long-term partnership between SFD and KOPEL in the area’s co-management and commitment to biodiversity protection and community empowerment in Kinabatangan. It is a proud milestone for Sabah, Malaysia, and the future of inclusive conservation.

WWF-Malaysia is proud to support Pin Supu Forest Reserve’s journey towards achieving the IUCN Green List status, serving as a mentor in their application process and the Implementing Partner of the IUCN Green List in Malaysia.
