Adopting From LASSie

Most cats and a few dogs at LASSie are ready for adoption and looking for loving owners and a place to call home.

When they first arrive in the clinic, most of them have to be spayed/neutered, vaccinated and dewormed. They obviously need a few days to get back on their feet before actually getting adopted, but would-be pet owners can still come by anytime during the clinics working hours. We are dedicated to finding good homes for adoptable pets and we strive to promote responsible pet ownership to improve the quality of life for the animals and people in the Langkawi community.

Even if you are only vacation in Langkawi, do drop by and ask one of our resident vets or staff to show you the current cats and dogs available for adoption. You never know, you might fall in love with one (or more!) of our furry residents! Should you wish to bring her/him/them with you to your home country, we can help you arrange all required documentation and shipment. It has successfully been done before, e.g. with Harriet who now lives in Sweden and many other cats and dogs previously staying at LASSie.

LASSie does reserve some rights, so asto ensure that all adopted animals find happy, caring homes. We reserve the right:

to refuse any application for adoption
to visit the premises of the pet owner once the pet is adopted
to repossess the animal if, in LASSie’s opinion, the adoption agreement is not reasonably adhered to.

Before adopting an animal, do remember one essential thing : their life is in your hands. It is you who makes the difference. Ask yourself all the right questions (do I have the time? the space? the means?) and be kind to animals!

The Langkawi Animal Shelter and Sanctuary Foundation is set-up to receive, rehabilitate and care for neglected, abused and needy animals. The organization also runs the Langkawi Island Animal Clinic - a charity project aimed at the sterilization of the stray cat & dog population. Both are non profit ventures, staffed partly by volunteers and aimed at improving the lives of unwanted animals.
