Updates On Pak Din (from Chew)

We’d like to thank everyone who has offered help, including Wine Dogs EE and TB who donated a bag of dogfood and rice and who have also offered to help with the cost of the netting. Also, my friend, Kon, for offering to fund the construction materials for the netting. Another friend who sourced for a suitable job for Pak Din. Not forgetting, many others who have contacted me or Chew directly to offer help – thank you.

We also have, on standby, dogfood and catfood for Pak Din’s companion animals, for the next round.

Here are some updates from Chew:

Delivered the Eukanuba dog food plus rice donated by Wine Dogs TB & EE yesterday(Pak Din conveys his big ‘terima kasih’ to Dr.Chan and all the others who has supported him).
At moment Pak Din has made some barricade using bamboo to prevent the dogs from running out. As he has been asked to vacate the current place he’s desperately trying to get permission to squat at another neighboring piece of land. As such he does not want to put up any wire netting yet as he may have to shift anytime.
He is still trying hard to find suitable work and hoping that he can get some form of employment. However due to his immobility(no car or motorbike) and his place is quite remote not frequently serviced by public transport, commuting is a problem. As regards the possibility of getting a driver’s job with a shelter he is unable to get a commercial drivers license as it involves money and need to take driving tests, its just beyond him at moment. If there’s any chance that he can get a job and employer kind enough to give him a soft loan to buy an old Kancil (costing around Rm3 to 4k) then commuting is possible. He has a valid drivers license. Anyway lets all lookout for him. Personally i think if he can get a farm caretaker kind of job where he can still keep all his pets would be ideal.
I’ve asked him to consider again to put some of his pets up for adoption and he is willing provided he’s convinced that whoever adopts his pets will be genuine animal lovers. Hopefully they can adopt at least a pair together so that the puppies have companionship. If at anytime the owners want to give up they should return the pets to Pak Din and on no account put them to sleep or cast them away to be strays. Also he’s willing to foster them if the owners happen to be away. These are some conditions he has set for adoption. To be honest I can sense his sense of sadness talking about putting his pets for adoption, if you see the pictures you’ll understand the animals are his family and how close and affectionate they are to him and vice versa. I hope and pray that things will work out fine eventually for him.Best regards to All,
Chew
