We Do NOT Have Any Editing Service

This is a gentle reminder to everyone who writes to us to seek assistance or have something (appeal, request, comment, etc.) published in this blog.

Kindly read our policieshttp://myanimalcare.org/policies/before applying for any form of assistance from us.

And as of today, please use our contact form:http://myanimalcare.org/contact/.

A few things I’d like to highlight are:

1. If you are requesting for assistance (putting up your animal for adoption, requesting financial subsidy, requesting any form of help), your FULL NAME and CONTACT DETAILS as provided by you will be published verbatim. We do not entertain half-names or pseudonyms. Only donors and those who provide help may remain anonymous.

2. If you do not wish your handphone number to be published, please do not send it to us. Provide us your email address instead or your preferred contact details. Once your handphone number, email address or any contact details have been published as per your request, please do not ask us to go back to the post and remove it after you have received the help you need. We do not have any such editing service.

If you are afraid of being disturbed by crank calls, kindly do NOT provide your handphone number. If you are afraid of crank emails, I do not know how else you wish to be contacted and if you cannot be contacted, how can people help you? In any case, please provide your preferred method of contact and after having done so, please do not ask me to remove it. I do not have time to do so.

Please appreciate the fact that we will do our very best to help you in whatever ways we can, and with all due respect, you are not the only one requesting help. There are others, too. I need to move on to the next case. Besides what is published on the blog, there are also private emails requesting advice and assistance, there are smses and phonecalls to attend to, and as such, I do not have the time nor are we obliged to edit the post just because you do not wish to be contacted anymore after you have received help.

Emails can be deleted. Emails need not be read. Emails can be marked as spam. If you do not wish to reveal your personal email, then please create another one to be used for that specific case.

This reminds me, rather sadly, of the case last year where we publicised for help for a certain rescuer (her hp details were published as she needed the help urgently to rescue a dog). Once she had received help, she turned off her handphone as she did not want anyone to “disturb” her anymore. “So many people calling to offer help, I want to sleep, so I turn off my phone” were her exact words when even I could not contact her anymore to arrange for a vet’s consultation for her dog.

How selfish is that, I ask you?

Did she not consider the fact that those who called later would accuse AnimalCare of “crying wolf”? What help is AnimalCare publicising for? The person is not even answering the phone. Is there even such a person requesting help in the first place? Why should we respond the next time AnimalCare shouts out for help? These are the consequences of the acts of selfish people who do not respond to offers of help once she/he has received the help she/he asks for. Is it too much to ask of someone to just say or write, “Thank you for your offer but I don’t need help anymore now.”

Whither courtesy?

Whither humanity?

Are we living in an age of selfishness where people only think of themselves, their own needs without any consideration for others, even those who have helped them? What is our world coming to?

3. As per stated in our policies, your request for assistance will be published verbatim. If you do not wish some private matters to be published, kindly indicate so to me when you first send your request (NOT after it has already been published or after you have received all the help you require). Better still, if some matters are private, please do not write it at all.

We’ve had, in the past, people who request for help to publicise their lost pets, but once their pet has been found, they write to ask that their contact details be removed or the entire post be removed!

Kindly be informed that we do NOT remove posts and we do NOT edit posts. I do not have time to edit/remove posts nor do I want to.Our work is audited every month by independent auditors and they run a check of our reports against the blog posts.

In the first place, this is all written very clearly in our policies and those who choose not to read policies are not absolved from having the policies implemented on their case.

We are not responsible if you do not read our policies.

I only remove the names of vets and their clinics from the posts because publicising the names of vets and their clinics without their consent is prohibited.

We trust everyone who seeks assistance from us will read our policies from now on.

And as of today, please use our contact form:http://myanimalcare.org/contact/.

A summary, once again:

1. If you have applied for assistance, your full name and contact details (if relevant) will be published.
2. Once a post is published, it will not be removed or edited.
3. Kindly read our policies before requesting help: http://myanimalcare.org/policies/

Thank you.
