Finally, we present you the release video of Sky, the little hawksbill turtle. Pardon our low quality compressed video – in low light conditions we could not shoot much, but to only ensure that Sky can swim towards the sea.

If Sky could speak, he/she would give a sigh of relief after a rough day, that all ended well. Our heartfelt thanks goes to Esther and Max for calling us after bringing Sky home, but with the intention of helping a lost turtle.

Our apologies for the discontinued Sky’s story without the release video in the end resulting in misunderstanding, and our rescue stories are attempted from the animal’s point of view for better outreach! Our rescue team would like to thank the callers and XX (the guy who asked the couple to call us) for their efforts to help the turtle!

Sea turtles are very difficult to care for in captivity, in addition to the fact that all marine turtles are protected and are illegal to be kept as pets.

If one should find a stranded turtle on the beach, please call ACRES for advice if the animal requires rescuing and to ensure that a healthy hatchling returns to the sea.

Predators are at bay and they play a vital role in overseeing a species population (the greatest problems lie with human consumption of turtle eggs and commercial exploitations). Sea turtle hatchlings act on instincts once they hatch, following the cues from nature such as moon light, growing to live several decades in the seas.Source: http://www.facebook.com/photo.php?v=10150847605306837
