Hi,
I am an independent street animal rescuer without support from any animal welfare organisation.
I’d like to apply for AnimalCare Subsidy to fund for the neutering of street animals.I have attached photos of the street animals which have just been spayed/neutered recently.I havealso posted the completed application form as well as the original receipt to AnimalCare Society. It should be with you shortly.
Let me know if you have any query. Look forward to hearing from you.
Thanks.
Regards,
Liaw Jarn Ling
As with all brand new applicants, we replied asking for more information.

Hi Kah Yein,
Thanks for your kind advice. I shall give it a go.
We came to know about AnimalCare Society by SPCA words of mouth . One of the staff told us about AnimalCare Subsidy, which could be helpful to us. Over the years, my family and I have been working hard to reduce the number of stray animals on thestreets by means of neutering/spaying them. We have no recourse to any funding.Hence SPCA (Ampang) staff introduced this AnimalCare Subsidy to us.
1. Where were these animals rescued? Location, pls.
They were rescued at backstreet of my house in (name of housing estate), Bentong, Pahang. Their mother cat is a stray who wanders on the backstreets.
2.What do you intend to do for these animals once they have recovered? Will you be adopting them, rehoming them or releasing back to the original colony?
They will be released back to their original colony once fully recovered.
3. If you have a petfinder.my and Facebook ID, may we have it, pls?
(No petfinder.my ID but a Facebook ID was provided)
We then looked at the Facebook ID and found that the writer of the email lives overseas. That led to some confusion so we wrote to ask if the writer was applying on behalf of someone else. If not, we needed to know if the writer wants to proceed with the claim as our subsidies are only for needy rescuers and caregivers.

Yes I am writing on behalf of my sister since she’s not good at handling emails. The application form iscompleted in her name, I am just being a “communication person” in this situation. Does this matter?
Yes it does matter.
We wish to advise those who write on behalf of someone else to please inform us on the outset that you are writing on behalf of someone else and not for yourself.
It is in our policies that we do not entertain third party requests, but if you wish to write on behalf of someone, please at least let us know and we will ask for the actual applicant’s phone number so that we can speak with him/her directly for verification.
So we asked for the applicant’s phone number and spoke to her on the phone.
SPCA has also verified the receipts and clarified that the “readoption” on their receipt meant neutering and vaccination for animals who are brought in from outside.
We hope all applicants understand that as custodian of donations from well-wishers, we have to be strict with how funds are disbursed. Hence, for new applicants, we may request additional information and verification from the vet/clinic. We seek your kind understanding and cooperation in this.
