Annual Semporna Shark Survey

WWF’s Annual Shark Survey continues in Sipadan Island this year with the help of Sabah Parks and Scuba Junkie Dive Centre.

We would like to extend our gratitude to our partners in joining us this trip. Studies have shown that when Marine Protected Areas are enforced and managed; reef sharks can show a fast recovery as they exhibit site fidelity and do not travel a wide geographical range. We hope to see more recovery of these reef sharks in a long term!

Over the years, with much attention given to this iconic species, we call upon everyone to continue to not support any shark products

on shelf and in restaurants.
