Today marks two years since the passing of our dear friend and co-founder of Soi Dog Foundation – Gill Dalley. A day now known as International Gill Dalley Remembrance Day.

The plight of homeless animals in Thailand and all across Southeast Asia was improved immeasurably by Gill and her loss is still felt greatly by so many. Here at Soi Dog, we continuously strive to uphold the values she stood for and the work ethic she displayed, in spite of her own struggles with physical disability. She touched the lives of so many visitors, volunteers and supporters of Soi Dog but most of all the animals – whose lives were transformed because of her.

The selflessness of Gill meant she was always far more concerned with the dogs and cats than she was about herself and in honour of that we have chosen Dayaram to share this day with her. Here he is pictured next to Gill’s favourite flower, the white phalaenopsis orchid. Dayaram is another one of Gill’s rescued dogs who has waited over 1000 days for the right person to come along and offer him a home. https://www.soidog.org/adopt/dayaram-128

We’d like to invite you to take a moment today to commemorate the inspirational woman that she was and the timeless legacy that she left us with.

Show some Valentine’s love for Gill and share it with the Soi Dog family from around the world.
