THE GRAVY TRAIN WILL RETURN

Call it blind optimism or mad faith, but we are determined to get another truckload of food to the Bark Ark dog shelter in 9 days, one day before all food for the dogs runs out.

“One big delivery of dry and wet food arrived to The Bark Ark shelter today,” shelter founder Bojan Veselica said. “The value is over 1500 Euros. That is all I can afford. The debts are tremendous and very scary. Around 30,000 Euros. We’re still trying to raise for last year. After this I have no idea how to pay or get more food for the dogs. I simply have no options anymore. I know everyone is donating as much as they can but it’s simply not enough. We are not strong enough to feed these dogs. This will last for 10 days maybe. After that…. I dont know.”

This rescue center has been struggling on an ongoing basis with massive debts accrued and not enough donations. One very generous anonymous donor from Washington state helped with a large donation a few months ago, and that helped keep food flowing for a while thankfully. But now, Harmony Fund has to find a way to buy food here on a regular basis despite the fact that we are looking under the couch cushions for enough spare change to feed the thousands of other animals counting on us this month. It’s going to okay. Just one step at a time…
