【KL Mid Valley Pet Expo 番外篇｜毛孩 Flexi 的故事】

在 KL Pet Expo 展位时，许多善心人士驻足停留，询问展板上这只特别的小狗 —— Flexi。我们这才意识到，原来在众多救援故事中，竟不小心遗漏了他的一篇。

回到 2023 年 4 月，柔佛士乃一家工厂的善心妹妹向我们求助。当时，工厂里出现了一只瘦弱的小狗，警惕又胆小。只要有人靠近，他总是飞快逃离，就连每天定时喂他的妹妹，也始终无法靠近一步。

那时的 Flexi，后腿天生畸形，走起路来像极了小企鹅 —— 八字腿、小碎步，还带点轻轻跳跃的姿势。妹妹以为他受了伤，便联系我们协助捕捉并送医。

我们设置了捕狗笼，用食物诱导，Flexi在饥饿与好奇中，终于鼓起勇气踏进笼子。送到兽医院后，医生确认他并无外伤，推测这特别的步态是因先天性肌肉或骨骼发育不良所致。

幸运的是，从那天起，Flexi 的人生（或说“狗生”）悄悄转了个弯。他从一开始的警惕逃避，到慢慢地接纳人类，甚至开始撒娇、蹦跳——像是终于打开了新世界的大门。

我们为他取名 Flexi，希望他的人生就如这名字一样，无论身体如何，都能灵活、乐观，用独特的步伐，走出属于自己的幸福旅程。

在此，也特别感恩，在 Pet Expo 的那一天，有一对爱心爸妈为他伸出援手，成为了 Flexi 的助养人 ❤️

[KL Mid Valley Pet Expo Special Feature | The Story of Flexi the Pup]

At our booth during the KL Pet Expo, many kind-hearted visitors paused to ask about a very special little dog on our display — Flexi. It was only then that we realized, amidst the many rescue stories we had shared, his had been unintentionally left out.

Let’s go back to April 2023, when a compassionate young woman from a factory in Senai, Johor, reached out to us for help. A small, skinny stray dog had been spotted near the premises — timid and wary of all humans. No matter who approached, he would immediately run away. Even the girl who had been feeding him daily couldn’t get near.

At the time, Flexi’s hind legs were visibly deformed. He walked like a tiny penguin — bow-legged, with short little steps and a bit of a bounce. The girl thought he might be injured, so she contacted us for assistance to bring him to the vet.

We set up a humane trap and used food as bait. After some hesitation, Flexi finally gathered the courage to step inside.

Once at the vet, examinations revealed no signs of external injury. The vet suspected his unusual gait was likely caused by a congenital condition affecting his muscles or bone development.

The good news? From that moment on, Flexi’s life — or rather, his “dog life” — quietly turned a corner. Bit by bit, he began to let down his guard. He warmed up to people, started to show affection, and even bounced around playfully — as if a brand-new world had opened up to him.

We named him Flexi, in hopes that no matter his physical condition, he would always remain flexible, cheerful, and full of life — walking through each day with his own unique and joyful stride.
