Visual Map

The following map illustrates the locations of Pets for Adoption, Lost & Found Pets and Animal Shelters, providing a convenient way to visually browse through pets of interest.

This system works in conjunction with our Smartphone and Mobile services, allowing you to easily find pets for adoption near your area, and to provide more effective means of viewing and locating lost & found pets at your location.

If you have listed a pet for adoption or a lost/found animal but have not added it onto our location map, we strongly recommend that you do so for increased exposure and better responses. To activate this map feature, edit your account or pet profile and click on the "Enable Visual Map" option.

To view pet details, please click on the corresponding icon on the map. You can also customize the map by choosing which types of pets to display.

How It Works

Animal shelters or pet rescuers can now show their location easily to potential adopters. The person can also view a full, enlarged map and Get Driving Directions immediately, saving the shelter/rescuer a lot of hassle in explaining how to get to their place.

Furthermore, people interested in adopting pets can View Nearby Pets that are available for adoption. This gives better exposure to a larger variety of pets and rescuers, as well as allows the potential adopter to quickly schedule adoption appointments based on his current location.

For Lost Pets, you can now pinpoint the exact location where it was lost on our Visual Map. People living around your area that views the map will likely take extra notice of the pet and keep a closer lookout for it.

The same applies to Pets Found Wandering Around. The rescuer can mark the location where the pet was found, and the owner in search of his beloved pet can access our system to see what pets have been reportedly found within the vicinity where his pet was lost.

The actual power is realized when we leverage upon PetFinder.my's iPhone and Mobile network, where our system would show them lost pets that are within their current whereabouts. Imagine how much more effective it is in giving exposure to lost pets, when people can actively look out for these animals within their area. Now everybody can easily contribute to being part of a Search & Rescue Effort, wherever they are.

To activate this map feature for your account, edit your account or pet profile and click on the "Enable Visual Map" option. You can mark a spot somewhere along your location's road or nearby landmark instead of your exact house number to protect your privacy.

Animal Shelters
Are you an animal shelter? Please update your account's location map and inform us so we can set your account accordingly to show the Animal Shelter icon on the map.
