12 June 2019 - Another suspected case of being infected with rabies.
Members of public is strongly advised to adopt from known source. Do not simply adopt any animals from unknown source, unless you have the experiences to handle and quarantine, vaccinate and neuter them.

It takes just six minutes for a dog to die in a hot car
Many owners don’t really understand what happens to a dog’s body in overheating and heatstroke. If a dog’s internal temperature goes above 41°C (105.8°F) it is at risk of heatstroke, which only 50% of dogs survive. A big thank you to Rebel Fitness Studio for adopting Sarawak SPCA as their beneficiary for their Corporate Social Responsibility programme this year.
The Foodtruck Party was held at S3 Curve, Jalan Simpang Tiga yesterday. The aim was to raise fund for neutering animals.

MIRI: A German expatriate in Miri and his family are calling for tougher enforcement against animal cruelty in Sarawak.
Gunter Liebertz, who made Miri his home 18 years ago, said it was still a shock for him every time he saw animals such as dogs and cats being so badly treated by some, including at pet shops selling these animals.
He appealed to the state government to take steps to curb such cruelty by enforcing tougher laws against animal-abuse culprits.

A female Indonesian national was yesterday sentenced to one month’s imprisonment after she pleaded guilty to possessing 135 turtle eggs.
Asnawati Ahmad, 60, appeared before Sessions Court Judge Mohd Taufik Mohd alias Mohd Yusoff without being represented by any legal counsel. The jail term takes effect from May 18 – the date of her arrest.
