Many people still 'throw' their pet into our shelter when we are off-duty. Do you think our shelter is the safest place for them? Watch the clips/pictures.
Throwing a cat or any other pet into our premise is equating to murder, killing an innocent life. This is what happens when people refused to understand. When will you ever learn?

Timeline Photos 31st Dec 2016, by SPCA Sarawak
As with any animals, it is best to allow new furbabies to have some time with their mothers before introducing to new homes. That way, these furry friends will adapt better and have time to learn some valuable life lessons first.
Many people come upon litters outdoors and ‘assume’ they have been abandoned when in fact the mom is nearby, probably hunting. Outdoor or stray moms sometimes scatter their babies to avoid predation. If the furbabies are fed well, are in a safe place, and fall asl...

Often the Chinese would reply to me '感情值多少钱?' (how much does love worth?) when they wanted to surrender their dogs.
A handsome dog of 3-4years old, the owner wanted to dump his only pet, due to the reason that he has to move from his current place. From the look of his dog, the dog was telling me that he didn’t want to be separated from his owner. His owner was his MasterChef, his soulmate, his everything. As I was persuading the owner to keep him, I saw a tear dropped from the do...

Dogs and Bones, SAFE?
Part 2 of 2. By Dr Becker
Raw bones can be both safe and healthy providing you follow some guidelines. You’re probably aware your dog’s ancestors and counterparts in the wild have been eating bones forever. Canines in their natural habitat eat prey, including the meat, bones and stomach contents. In fact, your pup has a biological requirement for the nutrients found in bone marrow and the bones themselves.
Dogs love to chew raw bones for the yummy taste, the mental sti...

Dogs & Bones, SAFE?
Part 1 - by Dr Baker
Bones are unsafe no matter what their size. Giving your dog a bone may make your pet a candidate for a trip to your veterinarian’s office later, possible emergency surgery, or even death.
Dangers of Cooked Bones
- makes bones more brittle, increasing the likelihood they might splinter and cause internal injury to your dog.
- remove the nutrition contained in bones.
Risks associated with giving your dog a cooked bone to chew:
- Broken teeth
- Mout...

The Goh Family’s Pet
Aaron wrote to us to tell us that how proud his family is to be able to celebrate Christmas with their furry kids, particularly Oreo.
Oreo was adopted during our Christmas Carnival, 27th November. Oreo is blessed to be able to find her fur-ever loving family, and adapts well with her new family members. In the Goh’s residence, Oreo met Brownie, another adopted dog from SSPCA in 2013, a poodle, cats and even fishes.

A PET IS A LIFE TIME COMMITMENT
Keeping pet is a commitment we make from the day we decide to bring an animal home. It means a long-term commitment of Time, Money and Energy.
