Why Do Cats Come To The Bathroom With You?
24th May 2015, by SPCA Singapore

There have been many schools of thought as to why our pet cats typically saunter to the bathroom with us. One theory is that cats, as "creatures of habit", enjoy being a part of daily routine behaviour, which certainly includes their pet parents' visiting the bathroom. Need the purrrr-fect, lifelong bathroom companion for your home? Come meet our loving and sweet, kitty kuties at our shelter, if you're ready for the long-term commitment: http://www.spca.org.sg/services.asp?cat=2

Found, then Fostered: MURPHY the Puppy Murphy, a brown/tan cross-breed puppy, was brought to our shelter on 22 April 2015, shortly after being found at a park at Upper Seletar Reservoir, and without his mother nor siblings. Merely about two months old then, and as our shelter was already full too, Murphy was up for his fostering phase, following our vets’ clearance. We sought the kind help of our regular foster parent, Ms Rebecca Mo. Rebecca and her family have been commendable at nursin...

Don't leave your pets in the car! Contrary to popular belief, it is NOT okay to leave your pet in your car, even if it's for a short while as you go about your errands. The temperature inside a stationary car can soar real quickly, and your dog, if left in the car, could sustain brain damage or even die from heatstroke in under 15 minutes. Beating the heat is extra difficult for dogs because they can only cool themselves by panting and sweating through their paw pads. Even leaving a small gap...

Cats Are Totally Better Than People. Here's Why.
18th May 2015, by SPCA Singapore

Cats are simply purrrrrr-fect! Here's another article, from The Dodo, sharing with us that cats' brains are 90 per cent structurally similar to human brains, meaning that cats are almost on a par with humans in terms of intelligence. Our companion cats also help us reduce our risk of stroke, keeping us healthy! A feline purr a day does help keep the doctor away! And, also, many women have typically considered cat-loving men to be desirable! (More on this here: http://www.vetstreet.com/our-pet...

Authorities To Step Up Enforcement To Prevent The Release Of Animals Into The Wild
13th May 2015, by SPCA Singapore

We applaud the authorities' move to stamp out the release of animals into the wild, and remind all pet owners to practise responsible pet ownership, remembering that a pet is for life. Under the revised Animals & Birds Act, anyone caught guilty of cruelty to animals, including the wilful abandonment of any animal, can be jailed for up to 18 months, fined up to S$15,000 or both. http://www.straitstimes.com/news/singapore/envir onment/story/authorities-step-enforcement-prevent- the-release-ani...

Noel (see videoclip) is a sweet 4-year-old cross-breed, looking for his home sweet HDB home! https://goo.gl/dCxECS This bubbly boy is one of our dogs adoptable under Project ADORE, as he's not more than 15kg in weight nor taller than 50cm in height. He would also appeal to HDB flat owners, by virtue of his suitably sweet and calm temperament. Noel and his fellow Project ADORE-eligible canines, are all featured on the first 2-3 pages of SPCA's online adoption gallery: http://www.spca.org.sg/s...
