“Malaysia won’t continue to be a dumping ground for the developed nations and those responsible for destroying our ecosystem with these illegal activities are traitors.
We view the perpetrators of this act as traitors to the country’s sustainability and therefore they should be stopped and brought to justice.” Yeo told reporters at Westports Tower in Klang after a visit to Port Klang to inspect the 10 containers.

🐢 'Turtle' is an umbrella term for more than 350 species of turtles including sea turtles, freshwater turtles, softshell turtles, semi-aquatic turtles and land dwelling tortoises.
🐢 In Malaysia, there are 4 out of 7 species of sea turtles found nesting in Malaysia, 15 species of freshwater turtles (softshell turtle included) and 3 species of tortoises.

Malaysia To Send Plastic Waste Back To Where It Ca..

“Developed countries must be responsible in what they send out,” said Yeo Bee Yin, Malaysia’s minister of energy, technology, science, climate change and environment.
“She added that some of the waste sent to Malaysia was in contravention of the Basel Convention, an international treaty drafted to regulate the export of waste to developing countries.
Yeo said Malaysia has already sent five containers of waste that had been smuggled into Malaysia to Spain, where it originated.
