Oops, Silly Me….Ginger Is Male (and Already Neutered Too)!
13th Oct 2012, by AnimalCare

A reader from the blog wrote to say she would like to adopt Rosie. I thought that would be a wonderful idea so that Rosie would finally have a home, but to be fair, I needed the feeder’s consent since he had been looking after Rosie even before I moved here. My other worry is, Rosie might run away and try to come back here. Sometimes, it’s not that the new owner isn’t providing enough. The owner may be doing everything possible to give the cat a happy life, but the cat just wan...

From my last post: http://myanimalcare.org/2012/10/12/further- updates-on-the-puppy-with-the-inverted-rear-paws-k elly-tans/ until now, I have been communicating with several people (including vets) who may be able to help in this case. So far, every vet I have spoken to says it is possible to explore non-surgical methods but this is only based on the photos of the puppy. A physical examination is still necessary. It is also better not to delay the evaluation and treatment as with every day th...

With regards to the recent MPAJ dog-catching case - SPCA Selangor has been lobbying the local councils and DVS for a very long time regarding humane stray management. It is unrealistic for them to completely stop catching dogs, but we gave them guidelines (and practical demonstrations) on the humane methods to catch, transport dog and manage the pound. We have been providing food for several pounds on a regular basis, while waiting for them to get a 'budget' for dog food. We also have helped wit...

Further Updates On The Puppy With The Inverted Rear Paws (Kelly Tan’s)
12th Oct 2012, by AnimalCare

Ref : http://myanimalcare.org/2012/10/11/some-updates -on-kellys-inverted-paws-puppy/ This post is entirely written in my layperson’s understanding of what I have found out. Any error is deeply regretted and there is absolutely no intention to undermine anyone’s offer to help. Kelly’s vet has explained that there is an over-extension of the knee on both legs, thus causing the legs to bend in a direction it is not supposed to. The surgery that he plans to do would be to break t...
