Buddy’s Yesterday’s Story
20th Dec 2018, by AnimalCare

Buddy came to ask for food yesterday evening. Cats CAN read minds, I’m sure of it, because I’ve just decided yesterday that Buddy shouldn’t have to sneak in to share Mr Zurik’s food. He should have a bowl of his own. And Buddy read my mind…totally. Here he is, in the evening. He normally only sneaks in in the morning. Never ever in the evening. But here he is. Ginger doesn’t like Buddy. I’m not sure about Vincent. This is my first close encounter wit...

“New” Food For Vincent!
20th Dec 2018, by AnimalCare

Vincent chilling out with everyone at the patio yesterday. Heidi is on her own. She’s super independent. Vincent’s lunch. I knew he needs a new taste already. So I got him Monge’s Delicate Chicken, a flavour I haven’t bought in a long, long time. Of course, he loved it! Anything “new” after a few days is always good for Vincent. The novelty lasted the whole day until late night supper!

This month I turned one-year-old. Although I was hoping I would find a home before my birthday, I refuse to lose hope. My name is Jaiyen and I am ready to be yours forever! I came to Soi Dog when I was just a few months old. Found on the streets without my mother, there was not much hope for survival. I was extremely skinny and became sick from the lack of nutrition. Without the help of Soi Dog, who knows how long I would have lasted. I have grown a lot since I have been at Soi Dog, with the ri...

19th Dec 2018, by SPCA Singapore

ADOPTION APPEAL: MOOKU THE HUSKY ‪In September, we received a call from a concerned member of public who found a sickly and weak dog wandering around a construction site. Fearing for the dog’s safety in such a dangerous area, our rescue officers went to pick her up and brought her back to our clinic.‬ ‪The dog was given a medical check by our vet team. They realised she has cataracts in both eyes, which affects her eyesight, and is possibly blind in her right eye. She is microchipped b...

19th Dec 2018, by Animal Concerns Research & Education Society (ACRES)

START WITH 1 THING "It’s difficult to estimate precisely how many species we’re going to lose, in 100 years or so, we could lose up to 50% of all the species on earth." Dr. Michael Novacek, Curator, American Museum of Natural History. This is a threat all too real to Peanut, a red-footed tortoise rescued from illegal pet trade, and his kind. He currently resides with his enclosure-mate Walnut, another victim of the illicit trade. Don't be a witness to the destruction. Be the solution. Ou...

Vincent’s Trip To The Park
19th Dec 2018, by AnimalCare

Vincent had another small meal at 7.45am – Cubgrub Duck. And Primal Chicken Salmon. Primal is a freeze-dried raw food. It’s very convenient because you just have to add water to rehydrate it. Primal is also made from organic meats. Mr Zurik was here again and Vincent wanted to go out. This is called “courtesy-eating” to entertain a friend, typical Malaysian style. Heidi wants to come out too, but she will get her taiji-trips later. Vincent wanted so much to go to th...

What A “bloody” Morning!
19th Dec 2018, by AnimalCare

Good morning and no, no, I’m not shouting expletives. It was really a rather bloody morning. Our day started at 4am with preparation for breakfast. I would have preferred to push breakfast to about 6am, but the cue for everyone is when I come down the stairs – that signals their stomachs to produce the digestive juices for breakfast. And even Vincent came to the kitchen to wait, so how can you say “no” to him, right? I had wanted to give him his antacid first, but he see...
