Rawang rowdy Chris has been discharged and sent to the half-way home where he joins the oldies, special dogs and blood donors. They are curious about him and he's does not seem to be thrilled about being sniffed. Next time this week, he'll probably be zipping around.

Meals For 300 Dogs In Egypt

Last month Harmony Fund provided a month's supply of meals for the Freedom Animal Shelter in Giza, Egypt. Our supporters also helped with the wages for the men who keep the dogs fed, cleaned and cared for. There are so many homeless and hungry dogs in this region. We noticed one of our Rawang young punks Chris walking funny and slanted. We brought him to Dr Lian and it was found he suffered from several deformaties probably acquired at birth. These are the findings.
Clinical examination on both hind limbs:
1) Angular deformities (cow hocked)
2) Decrease on left thigh muscle mass
3) Uneven level of iliac wing, left shifted cranially
4) Medial patella luxation:
a) Right : grade 2
b) Left : grade 2 – 3 (self displacement at certain gaits and angles)...

Pretty girl Valerie who is undergoing cancer treatment at Gasing went in today for chemotherapy. But tge vet says she is not fit for another dose as her red blood cells are low and she is anemic. Her anemia is due to the immunosuppression in her body caused by the multiple cancers that she is having. The vet has given her the Erytropoetin jab today. She needs to go on Thursday and Saturday for 2 more shots of Erytropoetin jabs. She will go for the chemotherapy once her red blood cells are increa...

Our old girl Baby currently admitted at Gasing is not doing too good. Vet says:
1. Her red blood cells dropped from 32 to 21 in a weeks of time.
2. The vet will be giving her a 3rd round of Erytropoetin jabs hoping her red blood cells will increase.
4. According to the vet, the 3rd round of Erytropoetin jabs may cause immunosuppression but they will monitor Baby and will stop the jab if she is showing signs of immunosuppressions.

Meat Accounts For Nearly 60% Of All Greenhouse Gases From Food Production, Study Finds

“The use of cows, pigs and other animals for food, as well as livestock feed, is responsible for 57% of all food production emissions, the research found, with 29% coming from the cultivation of plant-based foods. The rest comes from other uses of land, such as for cotton or rubber. Beef alone accounts for a quarter of emissions produced by raising and growing food.”
