Zarina was sent for her follow-up early this morning. Unfortunately, she’s still not eating on her own and requires force-feeding. She also developed diarrhea, and her 4DX test came back positive for tick fever. Because of this, she now needs additional medications and monitoring.
We’re worried, but we’re doing everything we can to support her recovery.

Our boy JJ has been struggling with a bite wound. Because he’s easily frightened, it’s been very difficult to apply cream or antibiotics — the wound became swollen, and yesterday, we discovered maggots inside. To prevent it from worsening, JJ was admitted today and underwent wound cleaning under sedation.
Dr confirmed the wound isn’t severe now, possibly thanks to the iodine spray we applied earlier, but JJ still needs to stay at the vet for observation and further care.

Here’s a little #BTS (less glamorous) work that we do in a conservation organisation.
When a carcass is found, we bury it. After at least 6 months, we retrieve the remains, give the shells and parts a wash and scrub, put them up to dry and then try to assemble the broken parts.
All these before we are able to put them up for display, or bring with us to schools as part of our traveling exhibits.

We went dog trapping at Puchong yesterday afternoon. This mother dog has been given birth , the last litter was about 6-7 months ago to 4 female pups. They are to come in heat soon. Our target was to catch all 5 but the pups didn’t turn up.
According to Apryl, the feeder , it’s not easy to get this mother dog as she’s elusive and she doesn’t appear all the time during usual feeding. We waited for a while , unexpectedly she appeared. It was a rare opportunity and we got her.

Checked on Jogi today.
He had a bit more strength — when we arrived, he stood up and welcomed us, and that small effort meant the world to us 🥺💛
We also noticed some soft stool, possibly diarrhea, so the vet team is continuing to monitor him closely. We’re still waiting for updates on whether he can be discharged.
Neurological recovery is slow, unpredictable, and full of ups and downs… but we’re here with him, one day at a time.

JJ, our three-legged dog had a bite wound recently, and because he’s a trauma dog, treating him isn’t easy.
He gets terrified when touched and becomes defensive out of fear — not aggression, just panic.
Over the past few days, the wound started swelling… and today, we found maggots inside 😣
Our hearts sank.
Being tripaw already makes mobility difficult, and pain on his remaining limbs means he struggles even more.

Sometimes… you just know 😢
From their eyes, their energy, their quietness.
We checked Scream’s temperature — he has a fever,
and suddenly, diarrhea started too.
We sent him to the vet, the vet suspects infection from his sore wound might be causing the fever.
He’s also dehydrated, so Scream received subcut fluids and antibiotics today.
He needs to return tomorrow for a recheck,
and the doctor will decide if he needs to be admitted 💔
